All in Goals

Lenten Habits

For most of 2019 writing was a big part of my life. I spent several hours every day being creative, interacting on social media, thinking about how to convey my message to a larger audience. I was meeting new people, and reconnecting with old friends while learning about myself.

What Goals?

Birthday months are for reflection and goal setting so I started October off with a list of three goals, all of which are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound). As usual, I bit off a bit more than I can chew, mostly because I ignored the fact that I’d also be on vacation one week out of this month. To top it off, I failed to leave wiggle room for those times when life gets in the way.

Back to the Hustle

I’ve always enjoyed Mondays. Even when I worked at a job I wasn’t crazy about, Monday seemed like a new beginning—another opportunity to build bridges, solve problems and get it right. Sure, this was usually delusional and by Wednesday afternoon I was beaten down and dragging ass, but I started out the week with promise and optimism.

Cross Country

Because of my own struggles with fitness, it’s unexplainable that I agreed to train for the Columbus Marathon with my bff, Molly. Sure, we were raising money for Leukemia Lymphoma Society (my mom’s a Lymphoma survivor and her dad succumbed to Leukemia) and the race was the day after I turned 30, but it still seemed like an unattainable goal. Speaking of goals, I frequently joked throughout training that I just didn’t want to be last place.

October

October is here!

By all accounts, yes ALL, October is the best month out of the year. Why, you ask? Well, I’ll tell you, but first I’m going to share my goals for this month.
