I Guess You Can Go Home Again

I grew up in Grant’s Lick, Kentucky on a property my mom lovingly named Rocky Top Farm. I spent my childhood hoeing in the garden, throwing hay bales, collecting eggs from the chicken coop, canning green beans, shoveling cow manure, and picking up rocks. Lots and lots of rocks. My dad taught me to drive on his Case tractor and our 1949 Willy’s Army Jeep.

The Thing About Getting Older...

This morning as I was driving my boys to school Ollie, who turned 11 yesterday said, “The thing I hate about getting older is all the projects.” My immediate reaction was to bust out laughing. He was referring to the increasing number of school projects he’s been assigned in 5th grade in comparison to prior years, but I couldn’t help laugh at an 11-year-old opining about aging.

So Damn Busy

Think back to the last time someone asked you how you were doing. What was your response? I’d be willing to bet your answer was something along the lines of, “Great, but busy…” or “Tired! There are not enough hours in the day…”
